Longside sits just a few minutes from Mintlaw, in the middle of the same rural Buchan farmland, with a small but steady mix of trades, suppliers and home-based businesses around it. Distance is never really the issue for businesses out this way — it's more often that a website's never felt worth the effort for a small, local customer base built mostly on reputation.
That reputation still matters, but more and more customers check online first even when they're planning to ask a neighbour for a recommendation anyway — and a business with no presence at all, or one that hasn't been touched in years, can lose out to one that simply looks current.
